OBJECTIVE

Climate change, AI governance, resource scarcity, economic uncertainty. Today’s leaders aren’t navigating a single challenge, they’re navigating a polycrisis.

For Deloitte, the opportunity wasn’t simply to talk about the future. It was to demonstrate how systems thinking, long-term planning, and human-centered innovation can help shape it.

The challenge: How do you make thought leadership tangible? How do you move audiences beyond awareness and into meaningful engagement?

That sparked a provocative question:

What if people could have a conversation with a future where humanity got it right?

STRATEGY

We transformed Deloitte’s thought leadership into an immersive AI-powered experience that allowed Climate Week attendees to speak directly with possible futures.

→ Turn thought leadership into participation: Move beyond passive content consumption and invite audiences into a dialogue.

→ Make the future feel personal: Replace abstract sustainability conversations with human stories and lived experiences from future generations.

→ Ground speculation in expertise: Build every interaction on Deloitte’s climate research, frameworks, white papers, conference content, and systems-thinking methodologies.

→ Create hope through possibility: Show attendees a future where innovation, governance, and collective action successfully addressed the world’s biggest challenges.

EXECUTION

At NYC Climate Week, we launched Transmissions From The Future, an AI-powered installation that connected attendees with four future timelines spanning 75 years of human progress.

2050 • 2075 • 2100 • 2125

Visitors picked up a phone and spoke directly with future inhabitants living in worlds shaped by the decisions we make today.

→ Built a custom RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) system trained on Deloitte’s climate and sustainability thought leadership.

→ Developed distinct AI personas for each future era, complete with unique perspectives, personalities, and lived experiences.

→ Leveraged advanced LLM technology enhanced through extensive prompt engineering to create nuanced, engaging conversations.

→ Added real-time voice generation and transcription to create natural, immersive interactions.

→ Implemented a secondary AI safety layer to ensure responses remained accurate, balanced, and aligned with Deloitte’s standards.

→ Carefully calibrated conversations to balance inspiration with credibility, creating futures that felt ambitious, yet achievable.

KEY LEARNING

Transmissions From The Future demonstrated that AI’s greatest value isn’t replacing human thinking, it’s amplifying it.

The quality of AI output depends on the quality of human input: the strategy, expertise, frameworks, and intent that shape the system behind it.

By combining Deloitte’s thought leadership with thoughtful AI design, we created an experience that transformed abstract ideas into meaningful conversations, and gave people something increasingly rare in discussions about the future:

A reason to feel hopeful.
